What Would You Do if You were an Evil Overlord?

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Greetings, Readers.

I have just realized that I apparently never posted one of my absolute favorite time-wasters on the internet.

I am very sorry about that.

And so, without further ado, here is Peter’s Evil Overlord List. The first link goes to the first 100 of the list. Cellblocks 1 and 2 go to the next… many.

All of them seem to relate to traditional mistakes that villains make.

At some point, if I ever return to my family (or maybe even if not), I may need to create (or help create) a drama where the villain either breaks all the rules on this list, or follows all the rules.

That might be interesting.

I hope you have an adequate week.

Hello, Fluffsters!!

I found a very interesting link the other day, thanks to a friend.

It’s a to-scale map of space (from the Sun to Pluto) if the moon were one pixel large. It’s really cool. And quite huge. I knew the sun was huge relative to Earth and the moon. What hadn’t really sunk in before was how huge the emptiness really is! You should check it out- it’s interesting. Well, sortof. It’s actually fairly boring and time consuming. But it makes an interesting point.

And the comments the creator of the website makes are somewhat amusing…

This also works as an excellent procrastination device. You can get away with not doing your school work because you’re learning SCIENCE!! And who can argue with your attempts to learn stuff? (Heads up, it does take a while to scroll all the way through. Seriously.)

I hope you enjoy!

Names

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Greetings, readers! I bid thee a joyous Wednesday.

I was once again visiting YouTube a few days ago, and I encountered this remarkable procrastination tool. It is a video about names.

I found it interesting. I somewhat disagree with a few points or implications they make, but I found a lot of the information to be worthwhile.

Do you have any thoughts about names?

Thing I Did When I Should Have Done Other Thing

Hello, Fluffsters! Happy Monday!

So, this weekend I was both productive and not productive.

You know. I have something due on Friday, so that means that I cleaned my room (somewhat) and did craft projects instead. Yay procrastination!

I’m sure that I’ll get my Friday project done, so it’s not really that bad. But, yeah.

So here’s a picture of my craft project so far- a ceramic dragon pot thingy. (No, I’m not showing you my room. It’s better than it was, but it’s still not great.)

Front of a dragon pot

It’s a dragon!

A ceramic dragon with slightly stocky tail

So, the tail’s slightly dorky. As are the wings. It’s still cute!

The dragon's back becomes a lid

This gives a better view of the “lid”

So, yeah. It needs to be fired, of course. And then hopefully glazed. I’m trying to decide on colors. Do I want it to be glossy black? Glossy green? Not-glossy green? Something else?

Yeah. That’s my weekend, basically! How about you?

Things You Wish You Did Instead Of The Super Bowl

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hello, Fluffsters! Happy Monday!

Well, I’m not sure about you, but I had a fantastic time last night.

In answer to the unspoken question (for this is, after all, a blog) no, I did not watch the Super Bowl. And from what I’ve heard, it seems as though you might wish you hadn’t either. I’ve heard it described to me as though “if both of the teams had shown up to play, it would have been a better game.”

…Huh?

Oh. That was a bit confusing, wasn’t it?

Basically, I’ve heard it said that one of the teams played so badly, it was as though they never fully showed up to play the game.

Oh.

Yes. So, in honor of the game probably leaving you wishing to have done something else, I’m going to share with you some things that you might have actually enjoyed doing. Some of these might even have been things I did. You know, just to make you jealous. 🙂

…Did you seriously just use a “Smiley”?

Yes. Yes I did.

What can I say? It fit. But that’s a change of topic. Again. Ok, no more delays!

Things you wish you’d done instead of watching the “Super” Bowl

A) Take a nice, long, relaxing shower. Of course, that only takes up part of the time of the super bowl, in all probability, so you’ll want to combine this with other items from the list.

If you don’t need to combine this with other activities, even I’m a bit concerned for you…

2) Have a nice long dinner / lunch / meal with friends / family. As with the previous one, this might not take you the full time, and should probably be combined with other activities. Maybe you could take a long shower, and then have a nice meal with friends or family?

Ooh, I’ve got a better one:

3) Prove that if 1 > 0, then if x > 1, and n is a positive integer x^(1/n) > 1, Assuming that laws of exponents work. Also, you might want to prove that 1^(1/n) = 1, for any positive integer 1.

…Uh… I don’t know if I even know what that means.

Fine.

3b) Try to figure out what 3 even means.

Are you happy now?

Uh, not necessarily about that.

Speaking of “happy”, though,

5) Polka through the halls. There are few things quite so cheerful as a nice polka! And it’s certainly got to be more fun that the “super” bowl supposedly was.

5) Discuss whether or not you even exist. Or if you’re just the figment of your imaginary friend’s imagination.

Extra kudos to you if you answer that one without using the “Cogito Ergo Sum” argument. Even more “points” if you solve that answer and present it in mathematical form.

So… Lots of mathsy stuffs from you. Have you been studying Math recently or something?

I needed some way to keep myself entertained…

So you decided to work on learning math. Of course.

Z) Watch the final episode of Sherlock, Season 3 as it came out in the United States. And, possibly, prep for it ahead of time by re-watching all the other episodes.

(If you didn’t end up re-watching all the prior episodes, you could also combine this with any of the other points on this list.)

9) Play Bananagrams. This could easily take you the entire game time!

Last) Research Kant’s perspective on virtue and ethics, and its impact on the world. Maybe also write an essay on the subject. After all, football always seems to take an impossibly long time- you might be able to write an essay in the time it takes for the first quarter!

So, Fluffsters, feeling regretful yet? And any bets on which ones I actually did last night?

And don’t forget, if you’re trying to procrastinate, this list (mostly) works for that, too! I hope you enjoy trying (some of) these suggestions!

Another Podcast: Cows

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hello, Fluffsters!

A reader submitted something yesterday, and it is amazing. It’s one of my favorite actors talking about cows. On a podcast.

Who is this actor, you ask?

Actually, yes. I’m not on any podcasts I’m aware of. So I honestly have no idea who you’re talking about.

Patrick Stewart. From Star Trek, Next Generation. And a variety of other things. But most recently, he is the best demonstrator of the different accents of British Cows.

If you have not listened to this yet, stop what you are doing and go there. Now. Seriously.

Ok, now that you’re back… Do you have any interesting things you want to share, to go on this blog? Just email me at webmaster [at] totalfluff.com.

I hope to hear from you! Have a happy Tuesday!

A Podcast Fluffy Discovered

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Greetings, Readers.

Before I get to today’s post, may I take a moment to point out the… “intricacies” of what the Webmaster has done to this blog?

Why do I get the feeling I’m going to regret letting you write today’s post?

Maybe because you always do?

But I digress.

I was just noticing again the Webmaster’s Baby-Yarn-Store-Explosion inspired color-scheme.

Look at it. Seriously.

In the overall background, you’ve got one set of colors. Behind the “text”, you’ve got another set, of the same colors. Finally, the Menu and Header Image both also have exactly the same color-scheme.

It’s called consistency. And fun with textures in photoshop.

Huh. I thought it was an obsession with pastels and a lack of creativity.

That too.

The Webmaster admitted it. I am genuinely shocked.

Great! Does that mean I can do today’s post instead?

Mo. There is a fantastic online radio show-

-Podcast. If it’s online, it’s a podcast.

Whatever.

As I was saying, there is this fantastic show I’ve discovered. It’s called “Welcome to Night Vale.” Some of you may have heard of it.

Since it is the weekend on your world, and since you therefore have time, I encourage you to examine it. I think that a number of you might find it a bit odd, but I enjoy it.

Fluffy, don’t you mean, “I think that a number of you might find it a bit odd, and I therefore enjoy it?”

…Possibly.

I wish you a great Friday, dear Readers! May your weekend be excellent.

Comic I just discovered…

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hello, Fluffsters! Happy Friday!

So. The weekend is once again nearly upon us. As it is approaching, I am sure you’re wondering just how you are going to beat the possibility of… BOREDOME.

“BORDOME”? With an “e”? Are you sure you didn’t mean “boredom?”

Yes. You see, “BORDOME” is basically the same as “boredom”, but a little more mysterious. It’s pronounced “bore-DOME” instead of “BORED-’em.”

Oh. Are you certain it should not be pronounced “bored-‘o-me”?

Yes. Quite sure.

But that’s a tangent.

For you see, I have here a useful link to help vanquish both boredom and BORDOME! For, you see, I have recently discovered a (new to me) comic. The name is a bit… odd. But It’s quite cute.

The comic? “Heavenly Nostrils.” The name comes from one of the characters- a unicorn named Marigold Heavenly Nostrils.

The premise: A little girl somehow saves a unicorn from looking at its reflection by skipping a rock. The unicorn grants the girl a wish, and they end up becoming best friends.

The unicorn, though extremely egocentric, is surprisingly endearing. And sarcastic. But mostly endearing. The little girl, Phoebe, is also quite charming.

I highly recommend the comic.

Oh, and a bit of a not-quite-hack for easy navigability on the “goComics” site that I linked to: If you manually change the date in the url (the navigation bar) you mostly avoid advertisements that take over your screen.

Well, have a great weekend! Happy reading!

Hello, Fluffsters! Happy Thursday!

As I’m sure you’re aware, the Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug comes out tomorrow.

Also  as I’m sure you’re aware, it’s finals week for many people. Therefore, in honor of those two events, I’m sending you off-site to an amazing Ultimate Middle-Earth Exam.” You need to take a look at this.

I fully understand that you may have seen this before. But the fact of the matter is, if you’re feeling stressed, and if you like “The Lord of the Rings” or “The Hobbit”, it’s always worth looking at. I’ve found it to be a great source of amusement! And it’s a wonderful source of procrastination / excuses. “Sorry, Mom! I can’t study for my final- I’m taking a test right now!” You know?

Also, be sure to read the footnote at the bottom of the exam. It’s rather amusing.

Well, enjoy!
