I have been informed, by multiple sources, that today is a “Big Deal” in the USA. Furthermore, it seems as though cheerful distractions will be appreciated. As such, I would like to remind you that the comic “Ichabod, the Optimistic Canine” exists.

I expect it should give you a few minutes of low-stress.

First, the song pertaining to cows in one’s soup.

I do believe I had successfully blocked that one from my memory. Thank you so very much for reminding us of that one, Webmaster…

I’m guessing that was sarcasm, but I’ll say “you’re welcome” anyway. Because everyone should remember that one. It’s just too cheerful!

And similarly, “Space Unicorn” and “Neon Pegasus” are worth mentioning.

“Space Unicorn”? If it is at all like “Neon Pegasus“, I am fairly certain I do not want to know.

Well, I’m putting them into your post anyway. Feel free to ignore.


Indeed, I will pretend I ignored them.

I was recently made aware of the fact that somebody thought it a good idea to make action figures out of fine art. For example, there is now a poseable action figure of the entity from “The Scream“. It is rather… unsettling.

Masterful Short Story Telling

I was recently introduced to the newest Pixar animated short. Once again, Pixar has utterly astounded me with how well they are able to tell a story in a short period of time, with no words.

This one is called “Piper”. It is, in essence, a “coming of age” story for a sandpiper chick.

In addition to masterful story telling (it is a far more effective story than many), the soundtrack is excellent, and the animation is spectacular. Until the main character was introduced, I was not entirely sure it was animated.

Ok, I can’t believe I’m doing this… but, Fluffy?

Yes, Webmaster?

Shouldn’t it be “Friday”, not “Firday”?

I also am having trouble believing that you are the one addressing my spelling and/or grammar.

However, in answer to your question, no. Although this may at first glance appear to be incorrect, it is the appropriate title for the post.

Ookkayy…?

Yes. You see, Firday is a new, alternate spelling of “Friday” that author Neil Gaiman proposed. It all started last Firday, with a fairly innocuous tweet…

To which he followed up with another tweet.

Under many circumstances, this might have been the end of it. However, a dictionary got involved…

…and they had a conversation.

Shortly after that, I started following the Merriam Webster Dictionary on Twitter.

Now, fast-forward to very early this morning or last night, depending on where you are.

Others on Twitter have gotten involved, and this conversation has continued.

And thus, today is most definitely Firday.

(My utmost apologies about some of the tweets appearing twice; I have minimal control over what Twitter decides to embed in addition to the tweet I actually want.)

And so without further ado, I wish you a Happy Firday.

Happy Third of November, ’16.

Originally, I had thought the various aspects of the date were unable to relate to each other. I then realized I was wrong.

You see, in 11/3/16, there are 3 1s. There is also one 3. Therefore there are 2 threes that can be associated with this date. (The “actual” three, and the three from the three ones.) That in and of itself is not particularly interesting. However, now add together the month and the day. (11+3). You end up with 14, which is just two shy of 16. Thus, 11+3+(the number of threes in the date) = 16 = the Year.

Furthermore, 3 * 2 = 6, which is the last digit of the year.

Wow, those facts sound almost like something I’d have come up with!

Well, you are not posting for the moment; I needed to make sure you were not entirely forgotten.

Besides, I thought it was interesting.

The more observant of you daily readers may have noticed a distinct lack of posts from The Webmaster recently.

She provided me with an explanation, and I am passing it along to you. Apparently, the next one from her will be 1,000th post from The Webmaster, and she feels as though she should do “something” special. Apparently, The Webmaster also has not had time to put together something special for it yet.

There may be something at some point. Or she may realize that the post does not actually mean as much as she may be making it out to be.

Regardless, this is part of the reason why you have seen so few posts from The Webmaster recently.

As you are presumably aware, it is Halloween. From my understanding, this is a time when unnerving and chilling stories and such are appreciated. As such, I am sharing a fantastic video I recently encountered: Neil Gaiman reading one of his stories out loud.

As a head’s up, this is very appropriate for today. Gaiman is a master story-writer, and his voice is pleasant to listen to.
