Windows Welcome Weirdness

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hi!

Microsoft Windows. It’s a bit weird. Especially the welcome screens.

For a while, my computer would have a nice, default screen that it always showed. And then Windows started to have a new picture when it was just the lock screen, rather than turning on the computer for the first time.

Recently, though, it’s started to switch between the two options when I turn the computer on. As in, sometimes it will be the same stone-pillar-arch-thingymawhatsit that was the default. And now, sometimes, it will just show a totally new random image. That has no rhyme or reason. Even when my computer’s just turning on for the first time.

And the especially weird part? IT’S ONLY FOR MY DESKTOP.

(My laptop always shows a day’s random image.)

So, yep. Weirdness with Windows Welcomes.

Have a lovely day!

Why are lullabies always creepy?

Hi!

So, this one has nothing to do with Easter music. Except for this intro. You know. Whatever.

But anyway. I was listening to the gorgeous lullaby from the Pan’s Labyrinth movie, and noticed that the lullaby itself was fairly creepy / haunting / whatever.

And this shouldn’t really be too surprising. I mean, really. What about “Rock-a-by baby”? When the bough breaks? WHO COMES UP WITH THIS?

So, yeah. Here’s the piece I was listening to.

Enjoy!

Fantastic Russian Easter Music

Hi!

Since according to some traditions, this week is considered a continuation of Easter Celebrations, I’m somewhat continuing the festivities. And because I love Russian music (in case you didn’t remember), I found a rather fantastic set of Russian Easter music. It is, as expected from Russian music, much more dark and depressing than the subject matter might call for. And it’s lovely.

Enjoy!

The Giraffe Finally Gave Birth

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hi!

So, remember how over a month ago, I posted about April, a pregnant giraffe that people were obsessing over?

And there was a live feed and text alerts and everything for this giraffe and her pregnancy?

Well, the giraffe finally gave birth on Saturday.

Yep. That only took… forever.

And yes, the live feed is still happening. For a while, anyway.

Have a lovely Monday!

FIRST STAR WARS VIII TRAILER!!!

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hi!

THERE’S A TRAILER OUT FOR THE UPCOMING STAR WARS MOVIE!!!

It came out yesterday.

Some things:

1. Nice interplay of Rey’s Theme with the classic Force Theme / “Binary Sunset”. Nice symbolism with her really being trained in the ways of the jedi and whatnot.

2. Music did a nice job of adding weight. The deliberate pacing gives a sense of heaviness.

3. OK THAT LAST LINE THOUGH. WHAT THE HECK?!?!

What about your thoughts?

I predict: I won’t be able to sleep tonight

Hi.

So, I may have a cold, or I may have allergies. Or both. It’s hard to tell.

Regardless, that means I’m taking a lot of coffee to try to help reduce the symptoms.

Unfortunately, it didn’t help as much this time. So tonight, (well, last night from your perspective) I expect I’ll probably be up too late… either because of the coffee, or because my dang nose is trying to kill me. Again.

I hope you have a good day!

Upsides of having a cold with a sore throat

Note: If this is your first time to TotalFluff, please visit this brief explanation. Thanks!

Hi!

So, I have a bit of a cold-y thing. And it started out with a sore throat.

But I’m not actually too upset at the moment, for a few reasons.

A) it’s nowhere near as bad as when I was trying to figure out which villain to become so I could avoid having a nose.

2) sore throats (while (definitionally) painfull) have some upsides. For example, Honey. Or Honey and lemon. Or, if you’re feeling fancy, two kinds of honey, lemon, and some cayenne. That’s probably my favorite home remedy ever.

With the possible exception of…

iii) Home-made chicken soup. It’s a legit reason to make homemade chicken soup. Which is quite good stuff.

And then last) you can blame anything on your cold. Forget to do the dishes for your chicken soup? Blame it on the cold. Not want to talk in class? Cold. Fail to contain your pet dragon who’s now terrorizing the poor innocent bystanders? Cold. Accidentally turn your home remedy into a marinade by adding some garlic, onion,
and chicken? Definitely the cold. (Although possibly a good idea, too.)

So, yeah. Upsides.

Happy Tuesday!
