Much to my surprise, I find myself recommending a movie that is classified as “romantic” by IMDB.
In my defense, if also qualifies as fantasy and adventure.
It is a charming movie, with Ian McKellan as the narrator. The overall story-arch was expected, but the specifics of the plot were not. There were also some distinctly unexpected twists and side-characters.
If you are looking for something to do this afternoon, I would recommend this film.

So, I just saw a really cool idea that apparently had a failed fundraiser campaign. (And frankly, I’m not too surprised it failed.)
The idea was fantastic– a “Cereal Killer Cafe” in London. It would be a cafe that sold cereal from all around the world. So, fun idea.
But the movie they used was not very good. So, yeah. It did not meet its funding by the deadline. Alas.
Although I do think it might still have a chance of opening. So, we can hope, right?

Last night, due to random interweb spazzigoofiness, a friend and I discovered a different way to use Skype. It was quite fun, and it actually worked pretty well!
A) coordinate with the person you’re skyping to use this setup. (It wouldn’t work as well if you’re the only one doing it.)
Second) video-skype with them. (This is necessary.)
3) Turn off sound / Mic. (Keep video on.) This is also necessary.
Next) Let hilarity ensue. (Acting out emoticons is only semi-optional. Especially since the Skype ones are so animated.)
